RVS Basic (基本美术体) is a bitmap typeface with a contrasting style. The Chinese characters are inspired by Art Deco lettering and calligraphic 'lacquer script' (漆书) from the Qing Dynasty, inverting traditional stroke weight conventions. Influenced by both Western and Eastern hand-lettered styles, it represents a distinctly Chinese approach to decorative typography that challenges conventional design rules.
